Mathematical Economics 1

Preface

The textbook is written according to the Mathematical Economics Curriculum for Secondary Economic, Hospitality-Tourism and Commerce schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The program contents of the textbooks can serve students of other related schools who have elements of mathematical economics within their programs.

All the thematic units of the textbook are written on the basis of appropriate mathematical relations among the values studied by mathematical economics. Relations between values are expressed by derived mathematical equations in appropriate forms for their application.

Sketches, charts, tables and graphs were used with the equations, which in turn contributes to faster and easier learning of materials.

The significance of the notion of proportions and its properties for mathematical economics and its practice has been especially emphasized.

The way of writing the textbook is adapted to the requirements of the economy, practice and available resources for calculating. Mathematical problems were made using a pocket calculator with a maximum of nine decimal places. PCs can also be used for making problems and controlling the accuracy of their analysis.

Based on its concept, besides high school students, the textbook can also be used by employees in the economics field, students, as a literature for exams in business and financial mathematics, and others.

The authors of the high school textbook Mathematical Economics 1 subsequently made examples in Excel in the form of financial models and can be used by everyone who owns the textbook.

The textbook can be purchased on this webpage.

You can download the examples made in Excel here.
